Engineering RCC Structures

Concrete is the most relaible and robust construction material available since many centuries and adoption of Rebar made it more economical to construct concrete dwellings.

The rebar reinforcement embedded within the concrete, has the tendency to rust slowly over time. So inevitably, it is also responsible of weakening of concrete structures.

The common challenges in RCC are cracking, tension stiffening, creep, and shrinkage caused due to non linear behavior of concrete.

To control deflection, our RCC design team selects maximum deflection limits, that correspond to the structural requirement. We ensure that the calculated deflection does not exceed these limits.

Our Expertise

Our RCC design team does structural analysis, modeling and drawings for Rebar and design of different types of foundations, whether it is slab on grade, pile foundation, shallow and raft foundations.

We also re-engineer, repair foundations damaged due to flooding in Windstorms or heavy rain. Our team does Retaining Wall analysis & design, Masonry structural design and Pile Foundation design

Our design expertise also involves designing Individual footing or isolated footing, Combined footing, Strip foundation wall Footings, Pile foundation, ICF and Tilt-Up Walls.

Over the years, our team has developed strong understanding of US IBC, IRC, ASCE and ACI building codes which help in quick execution of design and detailing.

Building Codes

We refer to building codes IBC 2015, IRC 2015 and ASCE 7-10 for wind loads for general concrete structrual design. Apart from it we follow ASCE 32-01 for Shallow foundations, ASCE 24-05 for Flood Resistant design.

For structural concrete we refer to ACI 318-02/318R-02 meant for buildings design. ACI 530/530/1.02/R/R1.02 for Masonry Structures. We refer to ACI 302 for Concrete Floor and Slab Construction.

To ascertain standard tolerances for concrete construction and materials we refer to ACI 117-90 and ACI 117R-90 for commentary. For general loads during construction we refer to ASCE 37-02 to create robust designs that pass failure tests.

For Siesmic design applicable for west coast we refer to ANSI/AISC 358-10 with ANSI/AISC 358s1-11 and ANSI/AISC 358s2-14 for prequalified connection for special and intermediate moment. Frames for Seisimic applications.

Software Skillset

Our team uses AutoCAD for drafting concrete foundation plans and for general drafting purpose. For modeling and wind analysis we use RAM Concept and STAAD Pro.

We use E-TABS for complete design of Concrete and RCC structures. Mainly for commercial buildings, store houses, institutional and miscellaneous structures.

For engineering Anchor designm we use Hilti-Profis to get robust anchors setup in foundations. We se Rebar CAD to prepare rebar drawings and calculations for foundations and retaining walls.

For RCC design and calculations we use ENERCALC and Revit Structures for 3D modeling and detailing of various category of RCC structures.
